1. Membership is subject to the approval of the Executive Committee of the AMA, and an inspection of your premises may be requested prior to approval being granted. The Executive Committee meets approximately every two months. If approval is required quicker than this, please advise accordingly.
2. All information you submit will be in strictest confidence, and sensitive information (e.g. turnover) will not even be shared with the Executive Committee, but will be for the eyes of the Executive Director only.
3. The AMA conducts itself, as well as all meetings it arranges, in terms of its Anti-Trust statement, a copy of which is available on request.
4. An initial Joining Fee is payable on acceptance into membership.
5. An Annual Fee is payable by way of a Lump Sum amount based on the member company's annual gross turnover in the aerosol business. Members are expected to supply this information truthfully so that they can be allocated into the correct category for invoicing.
6. Member companies may nominate suitably qualified delegates from their organisation to be elected to the Executive Committee or other Sub-Committees of the Association that may be formed from time to time, and which may be temporary to achieve a set objective.
7. Member companies are expected to comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as embodied in the Association's Code of Practice and Safety Guidelines. In addition, fully paid-up members may apply to display the AMA "Approved Mark" on their products and stationery, by signing the necessary documentation and returning it to the AMA offices. Notwithstanding this, the AMA accepts no liability for the quality, efficacy or safety of any members' products, which shall be the sole responsibility of the owner of the product. The "Approved Mark" may NOT be displayed by members who have not returned the necessary documentation.
8. All issues concerning membership, disqualification, appointed officials and other matters of procedure for the Association are embodied in the "Memorandum of Incorporation".
9. The AMA collects market statistics annually to monitor the state of the South African market, and its movement. This information is generic and tracks product type only, with no mention made of the contribution or movement by company or brand. We track fillings as well as sales in the market, so request imported and exported information as well. This information is considered extremely confidential and is seen by the Executive Director only, and not shared with the Executive Committee. Members are expected to share this information when requested to do so.
