It has been brought to our attention, on more than one occasion, that members are experiencing problems with regards to can / dust cover fit. Upon investigation, it was discovered that in most cases the reason is that one of the two is being made out-of-spec. The problem seems to be particularly prevalent with cans that are being imported. Please remember that if you are importing your cans or dust covers, the manufacturer may not be making them to South African specifications that our local can and dust cover manufacturers are following.

This can cause QC problems like loose dust covers, dust covers falling off, dust covers that are tight or difficult to remove, amongst others. This is especially important in the case of spray-through caps, as in these cases, the aerosol may not even spray. See below the latest can specifications diagram which all local manufacturers should be following. Be sure to submit a similar diagram to your overseas-based supplier of cans or caps to ensure there are no fit issues.
