The AMA Approved Mark was re-launched at the 50th AGM held at Sun City on May 17th 2013. Essentially AMA Approved covers more issues than before, and gives consumers and the trade much more confidence in their purchase of a South African manufactured aerosol product.
The South African aerosol products will continue to be CFC free, but now will incorporate the commitment to the environment, the recycling mark on product, and the monitoring of aerosol recycling.
The industry's commitment to safe products is incorporated in its commitment to the Aerosol Sectoral code, specifically incorporated in the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) code. This commitment was formally acknowledged at the March 13th official CGSO Sandton Convention Centre.
The Mark also certifies that AMA Members are committed to Best Aerosol Manufacturing Practices. Further the AMA Approved mark ensures correct product measures for consumers.
Further, the new AMA membership certificates indicate that the individual member is a " ..Registered Member of the Aerosol Manufacturers' Association and has pledged adherence and commitment to the AMA Code of Practice and the AMA Sectoral Code".
